South London Harriers is a club rich in history. It was founded in 1871, making it one of the four oldest athletic clubs in the country. The Club caters for all abilities, with plenty of opportunities for competition and training for men, women and young athletes. During the winter activity is focused at the SLH Headquarters in Coulsdon, which is ideally situated for cross-country racing and road running training. In the summer, focus switches to track and field. Since 1991 the Club’s track and field base has been Crystal Palace National Sports Centre, which offers some of the best facilities in the country including an all weather track and weight training room. Both track and Clubhouse remain open all year for training. Qualified coaches are available to supervise training and offer advice and encouragement. The club is very active socially, organising various events during the year. The Clubhouse bar is open after training. SLH welcomes new and prospective members to join us on training sessions.
