Sainsbury's Glasgow Grand Prix

11-12 July

For the first time since 1968, Glasgow will host Grand Prix athletics as the prestigious IAAF Diamond League comes to the Scottish city on 11-12 July 2014.

In the same year that the city will host the XX Commonwealth Games, the Sainsbury’s Glasgow Grand Prix will feature show-stopping performances as some of the best athletes in the world come to town.

Considered one of the best IAAF Diamond League meets in the world, the 2013 grand prix was held in London and saw a host of British and international champions in action at the venue of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Six-time Olympic champion Usain Bolt stole the show on the first of the three days with 100m victory before double Olympic champion Mo Farah prepared for his assault on double World Championship gold with a dominant win over 3,000m and Christine Ohuruogu also won a thrilling 400m in front of 60,000 fans on the Saturday.

Sunday was the turn of the Paralympians as David Weir, Hannah Cockroft and Richard Whitehead all gave the crowd something to cheer with victories on home soil.
